+ Can I import a published website back into XSitePro?
Unfortunately there is no way to re-import a published website as it has been converted into standard website files, not XSitePro project files.
You would need to recreate the website in XSitePro. It very much depends on the look of the website as to how easy it will be to recreate. Some will be easier than others.
You will need to use the page layout tab to create the header, left, center and right panels and the page footer separately.
You can use the images that are part of an existing website and if the header is made up of a collection of images then you can do a screen shot of the page and cut out what you need.
It is do-able, but will probably take some time. I know that the majority of our customers have taken the time to import their existing sites due to the fact that once they,re there; it,s far easier to manage and then they can take advantage of all of XSitePro’s brilliant features.
+ I was asked to register again and then when I opened XSitePro all my sites were gone!
This can happen if you move or rename your xsitepro-data folder (In your ‘Documents’ folder by default). If you have been ‘spring cleaning’ your PC and have moved this folder to a new location what happens is when you then open XSitePro it cannot find your data and therefore will create a new data folder.
To solve this issue you need to locate your original xsitepro-data folder and move/rename it back to the way it was previously.
+ I am getting script errors in XSitePro.
As XSitePro uses components from Internet Explorer this is usually easily fixed by updating your copy of Internet Explorer. Click the link below for more information:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx
+ I am getting script errors on my live site.
Here are two things that can cause this;
1) 3rd party script has been added to your website and this script is incorrect. It’s best to double check the script to make sure it is valid, if possible contact the company/website that provided the script.
2) This can happen if you paste in text from another application, Word for example. When information is pasted in from Word it also pastes in the formatting and script. As Word is not designed to make websites then this extra formatting and script can cause problems on your website. To solve this you first need to paste the text into notepad and then copy it from there and then paste into XSitePro. This will remove all the formatting from Word.
+ All/Some of my menus are not appearing on my live site.
This can happen if you have enabled Siloing and not selected for your menus to appear. You can check this by opening the Siloing settings in the Other tab and going to Step 5.
+ I cannot make text flow around my image
To allow text to flow around an image you just need to select the image you want to use and right click. In the menu, click ,Image Properties,. Under ,Alignment, set the horizontal option to either Left or Right. The text will now flow around the image.
