1. I updated XSitePro to 2.501
2. I downloaded XSitePro2.5-ResourcePack1 to my desktop
3. When I try & run XSitePro2.5-ResourcePack1 it says Please Install XSitePro 2
4. When I open XSitePro it says that I don't have the latest resource pack installed & offers to download it
5. I have downloaded again & tried to install the Resource Pack multiple times & keep getting the same messages as above

Please advise?

Thanks,

FYI, support suggested saving current websites, uninstall & re-install & it worked.

Thanks.

I didn't do anything different... but I was able to download the file and install. The templates all look fine.

Unfortunately I can't currently use the editor on any of the pages and Tech support has not been able to provide me a solution. I've reinstalled 6 times so far with no effect. (It's been 2 days.)

Hi JT,

Still chipping away at trying to get back into my websites.

I have full access on the source page so I have made a few alterations using html
After Saving I can see the changes using the Preview button.

Unfortunately. In source mode the right click facility is out of use so all of the great
features are wiped out.

Shame really..

Thankfully my big sites are standing alone but for those who depend on XSP for all of their
websites it seems to be a bit of an uphill struggle at the moment.

I'm very surprised that no one from Admin or Support has come on to try and explain
to (quite a lot of people by the look of the different posts) everyone what has happened
and how they are going to rectify the situation.

Here's hoping

I thought the resource pack was installed (I followed the process) but when logged in I can't view any of the templates it just says they are not installed and gives the web address for the resource pack download.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but same....
Very irritating. Anyone had the same problem? The upgrade works just the resource pack doesn't seem to install properly

I was on 2.5

Got the pop up message to upgrade to 2.501 and did so

That opened a web page saying I should download the 2.5 respondent pack - did so.

Cannot see anything new in 2.501 that was not already in 2.5 - certainly no new templates although I haven't checked the clipart as i didnt know what was there before. Seems unnecessary to download this if you had 2.5 already installed.

It will have bug fixes and and other stuff and my advice is always update when the program tells you to.

There are all sorts of reasons why and compatability with other programs is a good one too.

Captcha ;)

True but I was talking about the Resource pack not the update.

Downloaded 222MB of "resources" but got nothing new. Not an issue just an observation for others as it seems to be for people who didnt have the original 2.5 already installed whcih already has all these things so no benefit using up download time :)

Ok -

After a number of emails with tech support we've FINALLY solved the problems. (Thanks Ben)

Here's how it all got fixed.

I couldn't use the text editor. I also couldn't use the right click menu. Yeah... that means I couldn't use XSP at all. This is what I had to do to fix it...

First, I had to uninstall Microsoft .Net Framework and install the latest version.
Second, I reinstalled XSP and placed the data file directly into my c drive instead of into my DropBox.

And everything seems to work.

I haven't reinstalled all my old websites yet... but I've built a new website and I could finally use XSP again. So if you ever have the same trouble... try the 2 things above.

I've heard of all kinds of problems when the XSP data folder is not in the right place! I would never think of placing it somewhere else.

I too couldn't get the ressource pack to install on my Win7 64bit machine.

I right clicked on the ressource pack and choose the third option "fix compatibility errors" and followed the instructions. I selected with which version it last worked for me and pressed on "start program" on one screen. I did not press "next"! You have to start program first. After the second try it installed correctly for me (don't forget to also select on the problem screen to check "program won't install" and "program needs administrator rights").

Now XSP works again and i have all the templates installed. I'm satisfied. :)

Here is the problem I'm having. I can't even get the resource pack to download. At the end of the download it just says "could not save, could not read the source file" or something like that. This is very frustrating. Can anyone help me Please!!

Also another thing thing that is very frustrating is that when I try to submit a support ticket it just says
wrong captcha over and over again! Anyone else have this problem?
