You can use the {%KEYWORD1%} token (or keyword2, 3, 4 whichever you want) and put the same word you're using for your menu in XSitePro's KEYWORD section. For example: if you're using the word Contact Us in your menu just enter Contact Us in the KEYWORD section and then use the {%KEYWORD%} token where you want Contact Us to appear on your site.

I hope this makes sense. ;)

Cheers!

I have watched the video tutorial for tokens and can see it is a great tool. Although I cannot tell if it will do what I would like it to do.

Explanation:

I have website which I Originally built with Front page and later re-did it in XSP The site has about 50 what I call "extension pages", which show as /gifts.html or /fishing-rods.html etc.

When I used Front page I set my title, meta tag description and keywords etc. for the "index" page and I could also put different title, meta tag description, and different keywords which were relevant to the specific extension page. Example index page had keywords like importers /exports of various products including blah blah. but an extension page example /fishing-rod.html I could place keywords like fishing rods, reels, bass, perch, fly fishing rods etc.

With XSP all my extension pages carry the same meta tags as the index page and I have been unable to find how to get into the head section in order to change each individual extension page the tags don't show up in the source and the browser shows the same title for all pages. Is this something that tokens could fix? and if not is there a way I can get into the head section of these numerous extension page in order to customize them.

Thank you!

Tokens will work but they are not required. From the Page Settings tab for each page, set your unique page keywords there.

It's better to have unique keywords for every page on your site, though XSitePro by default likes to carry the website keywords through to every single page, this is not a good idea. Instead leave the website keywords blank, and fill in unique keywords for each page on the Page Settings tab. Pay special attention to the description on this page as well. These are written as the 'Meta' tags for the page.

Hi. Brett,

I do have the different keywords, and descriptions on each extension page, but how do I get into the header where the meta tags go? The reason I ask this is I found out my sites are not "Google Verified" Google generates a snippet of code that has to be placed in the 'head" portion of the site and before the <body>
but I have been unable to figure out how to get into that area.

Thanks

Hi Maisin

To get to the 'head' section(s) just go to 'other', then 'global Scripts' and enter your Google Verified code into the 'head' section.

Best wishes,
