On the Publishing Details screen, shouldn't FTP password be at least represented with stars (******) instead of the actual password being visible to everyone ?

Any thoughts?

I agree. It's also something that would be easy for Intellimon to fix.

Would be nice if XSP stored passwords.

We need protect the users exposure on a opt in opt out basis thru Data masking. The process of obscuring (masking) specific data elements within data stores. It ensures that sensitive data is replaced with realistic but not real data.

The goal is that sensitive customer information is not available outside of the authorized environment.

Data masking is typically done while provisioning non-production environments so that copies created to support test and development processes are not exposing sensitive information and thus avoiding risks.

A much needed mod since we are in the business of protecting sensitive data and at the same time exposing it to the world.

Well as I hear that this is not possible. If you want to encrypt your FTP password you have to use sftp and keys. If you use it than you will not have a password in your scripts. Then the password is in plain tektst in the users home dir.
