I am pretty sure the email cloaker was working, when I first added it to a couple sites. The other day I tried to use it in a new site I built and it did not work.

You can see the email uncloaked, and when you click on it the email does not work and you get a message "Could not perforrm this operation because the defualt mail client not properly installed."

I checked my other sites that had it and none of them are working now, on the actual webpages (the widgets looks good in the sites when I build them, but dont work when published on the web).

version 2.530

Here's what I use. It's almost identical to what the XSite Pro Email Cloaker generates.
The Design Editor (usually) leaves the code alone if you wrap it in <p></p> or <h4></h4> tags (or whatever h-tag your want).
Code:
<p><strong>Email: <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">// <![CDATA[
emailname = "youremailname"
emailserver ="yourwebsite.com"
document.write("<a href='mailto:" + emailname + "@" + emailserver + "'>");
document.write(emailname + "@" + emailserver);
document.write("</a>");
// ]]></script></strong></p>

I just tried the email cloaker in version 2.542 and it seems to work.

There is no need to know JavaScript, just replace the two parameters with the email name you want and the mailserver you want.

Let's say the email address where you want the email to go is authorfriendly@gmail.com.

Then, in the code above emailname = "authorfriendly" and emailserver ="gmail.com".

This will cloak the email and bring up authorfriendly@gmail.com whenever anyone clicks the link.

Hi All,

Please be aware that the email cloacker, and CopyWolf's Javascript example require that the website visitor has an email program installed.
This use to be a given thing, but I have noticed that a growing number is users are just using web mail and do not have a dedicated email application installed.

To counteract this, you may want to make sure you have a Form on your web page too.
This will enable visitors with out an email application to get in touch with you too.

We have a video on forms that may help you here:

.. and you can find the manual section on this here:
