This has to be one of the most annoying aspects of this software. Switching between design and code adds, subtracts, and otherwise trashes my html code. I can't believe there is no way to fix this. Please do something about this. It is a feature that will drive some people away from this software.

Agreed. XSitePro is an excellent system, with an unsatisfactory editor.

The editor works fine for straight-ahead site generation, either typing into the editor or copying text from another editor. But it's not suited to frequent editing of articles. It's often difficult to change highlighting in the WYSIWYG mode. Switching between WYSIWYG and Code edit modes often generates undesired changes.

Replacing the Pinedit editor built into the current XSitePro with one of the several excellent editors available could make XSitePro far more desirable to anyone who modifies articles on occasion.

I completely agree that XSitePro is a very handy piece of software for site generation. The editor is horrible though. There are other problems with it besides the surprise code changes; like inserting horizontal lines three lines above where you place it, applying formating to a highlighted section and everything around it!!!

Right now this software would seem to be most appealing to those that need an easy way to put up a site and do very little itermediate or advanced html work i.e. fancy formating, forms from other aps etc. I read that the advanced users have to keep their original code somewhere else so when XSP trashes it they can copy it back in. If XSP wants to attract more higher end users they are going to have to fix this, or they can just carve out a niche at the lower end and stay there.

Hi,

I agree, it's been mentioned up here many times, what is strange is the eerie silence from XSP Tech people on this issue. Why? Any idea on when PinEdit will be replaced, it can't be that hard, or expensive to replace that bad editor?

I have been using XSitePro for a couple of years now and came across this problem when I tried to add in Sitelok scripts to create login pages. XSP simply changes the code and then hides it in an uneditable script. This is very infuriating especially when you do not know what is going on. This has cost me a couple of days of frustrating development. I think that I will developing my next website in Joomla or similar which has loads of plugins and support resources.

Very easy to stop the editor from changing your code
simply wrap it in the following

<nodesigner>

put your scrip/code in here and Bob's your Auntie :)

</nodesigner>

Cap;)
