Hello Paul and team,
I've been a xsitepro user since Feb 2006 and think it is a good program, especially for those starting out in the web design field. One thing I would really like to see added to xsitepro is the facility to add separate meta tags (especially the description tag) to the extra pages that are created when using the 'Page Break' option. At present xsitepro simply copies all the tags (keywords, description etc.) to the next page created e.g from page1.html to pages2.html, page3.html etc. etc. etc. Should one have 4 page breaks on a page this would create 5 pages all with the same tags - not very good with regards to SEO! Currently I am changing all but the first page's tags on the server and it isn't always feasible or warranted to create 5 separate pages within a site to get around this issue.
I only discovered this after many months of monitoring a site - who's first page ranked quite well on Google and the 4 subsequent pages (created using page breaks) were ranked nowhere. I appreciate that all subsequent pages can be accessed by a user using the next link or page numbers links - this is purely an SEO issue. After altering the meta tags of these pages manually on the server and making a note that every time these pages were accessed or altered within xsitepro that I must alter the tags again on the server, a big improvement was seen in the search results within a couple of weeks. I simply kept a note of different page tags for the subsequent pages (keywords, description etc) in the notes section of the site in xsitepro and copied and pasted them in the relevant file on the server... bit of a bind though!
