In short: xSitePro needs drag and drop visual WYSIWYG editor.

My first paid site building program was SiteSpinner, many years ago. Then recently, I got back into the web building game and needed something to setup a new site, and found that SiteSpinner, while it had WYSIWYG drag drop interface, it lacked ability to have organized site structure that would be applied thoughout different pages (like custom navigation pages automatically updating). So I ended up with xSitePro.

But as someone who is a bit anal about being able to drag objects and place them exactly where I want them on a page, I am becoming frustrated with xSitePro 2.5. Tables can be used behind the scenes, but some designers really want a more visual drag and drop interface to quickly setup webpages that can be differentiated from strict template style sites, with complete flexibility in layout, without the price or learning curve of dreamweaver. I started learning about Serif WebPlus and Xara Web Designer and wondered why xSitePro did not have these drag-drop for the design portion of the webpage. There may be a good reason I'm overlooking.

I'll be more than happy to beta test this.

I hope it will come one day I have been a fan of Xsite since the early days, but clients now want flexability on how the sites are layed out.
I see Serif have just brought out WebPlus X6, hope we dont get left behind because I do like XsitePro

Yes, I think xSitePro has great organization. But whenever I want to drag an object somewhere, I get frustrated. I was watching the tutorial video for x6 and was very impressed.

One point I will point out in xsites favour is the ability to add scripts , HTML etc.You will find it hard to do with Serif. I own both and I love Serif for it fancy layouts and quirky add ins, but I always come back to xsite to to get the job done in a clean pro way.
With the source code page there is so much choice, wish i was not hooked sometimes But there you go "The devil you know"
Look forward to XsitePro 3
If you want to understand the full power of xsite read Andrea Wilson post under "ablewebs" or Copywolf two great supporters of the forum

If you require drag and drop website building then you might want to give Xara Web Designer a try. Xara has been around for a while and is probably best known for their image editing/management software. I played with Xara Web Designer a couple of versions ago and was impressed with the drag and drop simplicity. I was not impressed with it's limitations. If I wanted something beyond what the graphical user interface offered, I was SOL.

XSite Pro is a very good tool for building websites. If you know know HTML and CSS coding and how to use JavaScript and PHP, it is a great tool. I have found it to be very extensible. (I am tired of dealing with the quirky code generated by the Design editor (Pinedit). )

Tables still work fine. I do look forward to a CSS based XSite Pro which keeps the good tables tools. There is no reason that XSite Pro's various Wizards and Widgets can't be added to a kickass CSS system.

Do you recommend someone build the design in Xara, and then copy the source into xSitePro?

Xara and XSite Pro are not compatible. It's one or the other. I was just suggesting a drag and drop system.
