When you start getting more than a couple of web sites and a few affiliate links, the affiliate wizard is a real pain to work with. It would be much better if each site built with XSP had its own file for that particular site's affiliates. I am faced with a list of some 200 affiliate links that span 8 different sites. It's a nightmare to find the right links for each site. I'm sure I'm not alone in this problem.

Hi Candee

Agree, to a point. On the other hand you could take the view that not having the facility would be an even bigger pain.

Jason has some work around for this using redirects by site and I am sure he will show you this here soon.

Sorry for the late reply -

What I do is stay away from the Affiliate Wizard for reasons stated above and just make a redirect page (Other Tab) for each affiliate link.

Then you can insert them with the right click menu and if you have 20 of the same link spread throughout your site and need to update the link, you just update the redirect page and it will make the changes on the 20 links.

Hope that is clear, let me know if it isn't.

Jason

Aha! Spiderman finally reveals himself. You shouldn't have kept yourself hidden for so long. What a nice looking young man you are!!! If I were only 40 years younger.

Could you explain how you use redirect pages to control your affiliate links. I can't quite figure out how redirect pages can help you keep track of 100 or more affiliate links. What exactly is the process for setting them up?

Thanks.

When you use the redirect pages to handle the affiliate urls they will be per website. So if you have 10 affiliate urls on on one website you would have 10 redirect pages going to those 10 urls.

And then on the next website if you have 20 affiliate urls, you would have 20 redirect pages going to those 20 urls.

So the redirect pages stay seperate by website unlike the affiliate wizard that lumps all affiliate urls together.

Let me know if that makes sense.

Jason
