Have been using xsitepro for about two months now and am loving it. I can't believe how quickly I was able to design my site and add content. But there's the rub. As I've grown my site - I publish content almost daily and am up to almost 90 pages - I'm losing track of the changes I'm making. I've been manually recording the changes I'm making to existing pages and the pages I'm adding, and then each time I publish I give that list a release number, back-up xsite pro and note the backup file information (good to do if you need to back out a release). Would be great if before publishing, Xsite pro could tell you the pages you've changed since you last published and give you a place to record what those changes were. Then the program could generate a set of release notes and assign a version number. Also might be nice to prompt to back-up before publishing. I did notice the Site Overview report but that doesn't provide detailed information and also - it seems like when I publish - quite often Xsite pro publishes pages I know I didn't change - wondering why that is. I made changes to about ten pages this morning but almost every page got published??? One other thing that might be nice is the ability to lock pages. Sometimes I need to refer to published pages while writing content and I'm always afraid I'll inadvertantly delete or add somthing. If they were locked I couldn't make changes without unlocking.

Thanks so much... Bonnie Alberts www.napoliunplugged.com

Hi Bonnie!

the logging changes idea is a really good one!
It will get heard by the Feature Request team if you put it in there.

You can stop pages from being published by going to the web page details tab and un-ticking the 'publish' tab.
On the same tab there is an 'advanced' button. In this section you can set it so that page is not published until a certain date. The idea being that if you 'drip feed' updates, then Google thinks the site is more loved :)

I hope this helps!

Thanks Bob, that actually helps quite a bit. I was wondering if I could do that. I have a number of static pages now so I guess deselecting the publish this page would be the best option and I didn't know about the 'drip feed' updates. I assume you mean just putting a few pages out a day??? Also, I am still trying to understand the scheduler. I want to start putting out one or two pages each day but I would prefer to publish manually as I'm not online 24/7 and my schedule changes quite a bit. Do I have to use the scheduler or can I just publish manually??? If I publish manually I assume then whatever I set to be published that day will get published??? Thanks so much for your help.

Bonnie
