Nice site for a rookie fella.

Hi guys

I have just started using XsitePro. Well, I have had it for a year or so but just played around with it once in a while and only now, after the new release have I really been excited to use it.
Anyway, I have just started a site (affiliate) and it is a work in progress. there is still a lot to do on it like add more pages (about, contact, privacy policy and more content), add some pictures, sort out the footer etc. I'd love some advice on what I can do to make it better (apart from the above).

The URL is http://www.acnenomoreguide.com

Let me know what you think of it so far. I know it will be hard as there's not much on there at the moment so please don't be too critical. It is my first attempt after all... :)

Thanks
Francis

Francis,

Interesting site, I would worry about competition though in that market. It's got to be extremely competitive, and so you would have to target very long tail keyword phrases (3-4 words, or more), and use backlinking to specific landing pages at your site. Good luck.

Hey Brett

Thanks for your input. Yeah, I suppose it isn't the best/easiest market for a relative beginner to target. I'm really considering this site as a test site, just to get me started so looking at it another way, the challenge will probably do me good. I do have ideas for some other sites, in fact I'm in the process of doing some mind maps for them. I will concentrate on one thing at a time though. I want to get more used to the whole site building experience with XsitePro.

Anyway thanks for your advice... :)

Francis

Happy to hear your thoughts on a new site just made live
using XSP.

All constructive thoughts definitely taken on board. Let me
know what you think needs to be improved.

Wholesale Crystals Australia

More content still to come but you get the idea of it all.

You'll notice the front page has made excellent use of Johns Content
Slideshow program. A super program I might add backed up by incredible
customer support.

Thanks

Just launched and affiliate site, one for me this time :)

It is quite a competitive market but hopefully I have chosen the right terms
and with some work this will become a nice passive earner - $1 a day will put a smile on my face, then simply rinse and repeat ;)

Take a look Flight Simulators For PC

Feedback welcome

Captcha ;)

Hey Captcha

Nice design. I never actually knew those games existed. Very real to life. I just
watched the video on your home page.

Really great looking site. Well done and with your modest goals I think you'll
be able to definitely surpass them.

Ash.

Hey Captcha

I love that simulator site, it's really awsome. It's really clean and I love the way you've put the comparison table at the very beginning. Incidentally, would you mind letting me know how to add a table like that or is it a secret that you're keeping close to your chest... :)

I ask because I do have an old WP site that I would like to make fresh again in XsitePro and that has a table (made with a plugin that doesn't look too professional) So if you wouldn't mind sharing your secret then that would be great.

Your template site also looks good and when I start to make a bit of cash, I'll probably invest in one, (it will probably be a while though as I only have one site live and it's still a work in process)

Anyway, good luck with your similator site, I'm sure that will bring you some extra cash... :)

This is not a "marketing" site, but I feel it does show that XSP can help those who desire to build a good personal and/or organizational website. I slightly edited one of the new 2.5 templates and... well, it's nothing special but I like it (duh!). :)

A Life in Christ

The only draw-back is a Google image cache has the info bar way offset to the left - off page.

Hey kdr

I like your site. It's very clean and easy to navigate. I agree that XSP is great for affiliate marketing but it's equally as good for the non affiliate sites like yours.

Hi guys I've been creating a few websites with XsitePro and I need to confess that I am a fan of it.

http://www.soeasyrecipes.com/
http://www.londonforgirls.com/
http://www.candidacuresystem.com/
http://makemoneyfactor.com/
http://www.ticketstosaopaulo.com/
and so on...

But now I am thinking if it is not time to move on and go for a CMS like Joomla, Concrete5 or others ? What is your opinion about it ?

Thanks

Fernando,

Wow, you have the advertising working for you on these sites.... That's some nice work, especially the London For Girls where you created your own YouTube channel, etc, that took some time.

Why?

Those others (Joomla, Drupal, Concrete5) are fine, but they come with their own problems too. If you're able to put up a site quickly with XSitePro like the sites you have shown, there's no reason to consider using the big CMS's unless you plan on building about 200-500 pages, or more... The only complaint I've seen up here is that sometimes bigger sites under XSitePro can have problems... I hope Intellimon can look into optimizing the user of their internal database for storing pages/page elements and that would fix that... we'll see...

Hi Bret,

I agree with you when you said

They probably have the money to advertise and we buy the idea of perfection.

But with XsitePro I have a major issue with big sites (soeasyrecipes.com) I've got more than 700 recipes and probably more than 1400 pages and it is a pain everytime that I need to change or tweak a small detail and to Preview it is hard because the software update the entire site and should be an option to preview just one page or all pages.

The other issue is I cant add a funcionality for people to add their own recipes (I used to be a SBI user and they had that function) like a post in a blog.

I need people to populate my pages, otherwise I have to create and add my own recipes and to be honest I've got more than 20 website to care about and I dont make my main money from this, it is part-time job (hobby).

But as I said I am a Fan from xsitepro and I do believe that is an amazing tool and it is developing...

Regards
Fernando

Have you tried adding XCommentPro it will let you do that and integrates perfectly with XSitePro (same company), get it here:

I've heard this from others. Have you submitted a support ticket about it? Please ask them, maybe if enough people ask they will work to use a better local database system to store pages and that problem will go away.

Here's the link to support:

I've created a new antenna website based on a XSP theme with
a couple of modifications.

Sydney TV Antenna Installation

Not quite finished but getting there. Let me know what you think.
