Hi all,

just a quick question has anyone used siloing after the latest google peguin and gotten higher rankings in the search engines.

I have never used siloing on my sites for a while now and just needed some feedback.

Thanks in advance.

Hi TM,

Yes I use siloing (and just about every other feature going ) on my test/hobby site.
Since the penguin update I am getting less impressions but the same number of clicks.
This means that the % of clicks per impression has taken a sharp rise.

Now this may have less to do with siloing than it does with quality inbound links.
Also this test site is heavy on unique content so that may be having a positive effect too.

Also I have a gallery section on this site and adding links from the image pages to related pages on the main site has increased the ranking for those main site pages.
This shows that links between siloed sections may be acting as external web pages.
If this is true then you will get a major boost in your PR if you silo the site.
How much siloing you should apply may be up for debate too.
I suspect that siloing every page will be less affective and quite annoying for your visitors.
So I would recommend siloing to a number of pages based on a similar subject.
