Hello, I'm new to xSitePro and could use some help. Keep in mind I am not an expert, which is why I purchased this wonderful product. I've actually managed to set up a website and get it published! For my keywords, the pages of my site are in the top 5 page results of google within only 5 days. Wonderful!

Happiness was then masked when I noticed that some of my pages began with WWW and some did not. I didn't notice this until the day after I submitted my sitemap through webmaster tools. After reading items posted in Goggle Help, as well as xSitePro (wonderful xSitePro people), I realized I had a canonical issue. So, I did the 301 redirect in GoDaddy today. Now you can type in the URL as www.shower-commode-chair-store.com with and without the www and get to the website.

However, I hope that someone might be able to answer my concerns, as follows. I typed in site:http://shower-commode-chair-store.com and I still see the non www pages because the 301 redirect was just done today along with the re-submit of my site map through webmaster tools. But, as the pages were originally indexed some of the pages show up cached properly, some are cached with a very strange look, and some have 404 errors. So, is all this because it is a new site and I need to wait a few days for all to settle, or do I have another problem. I can't seem to find the answers I need ; perhaps I'm not looking in the right places, so any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm very new at this.

Along with my son's help, I've used googlesites and a couple of joomla templates, but xSitePro is the most user friendly and helpful website design software I've used! Thanks!

Looks like you've got this problem mostly sorted out. I do see some pages listed without the www, but nothing strange looking and I didn't get any 404 errors.

Canonical issues plague many people, so, when you have a minute, can you please post an update here for the benefit of our readers. Thanks!

Thanks! As an update....I deleted the 301 direct then found v2.540 offered as a canonical link fix. I downloaded it from the Knowledgebase and re-published my website. I then went to Webmaster Tools and re-submitted my sitemap. In Webmaster Tools, my site was already verified, so if I select their option to only look at the www, it tells me I have to re-verify my site. I’ve been trying to figure out how to re-verify it, with not much help from Google. But, I've been monitoring Webmaster Tools daily, and it seems like most of my pages have now been re-indexed (all but two), and I expect them to be ok soon.

The bottom line is that I think v.2.540 helped, but I’m not sure how it helped. It was stated to have a meta tag added in the Header section of each web page but I can’t see the meta tag. Does anyone know how I can see it?

Thanks!

I can see the meta tag when I view the Source code for your Home page. Here it is:
Code:
<link rel="canonical" href="http://www.shower-commode-chair-store.com/" />
