I have a site on automobiles. My pages are about cars, trucks, buses and motorbikes.

On the home page I want an image header showing general automobile stuff.
For the cars page I want the image to show only cars.
For the trucks page, I only want a truck related header image.
etc

So how can I do this? They say with tokens.

But Jason said in a post that that setting is global. Header panel>advanced header is where the image will go.

I have read that you can make header banners/images appear using tokens, but only within the main panel area? Is this correct?
If so this is no good for me cause then I will have about 160px of missing header image on each page and my nav menu will be sticking out to the side?

How can I have different header images on these 4 or 5 different pages?

Peter

Hi Peter,

Yes you can use tokens but I like to use the code below.

Just copy the code and change the name of the image from header.jpg to whatever image names you are using for the header images.

Then paste the code in the advanced settings --> Scripts --> Head section for each page that you want to change the header image on.

Code:
<style>TD.XSP_HEADER_PANEL{BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url('images/header.jpg')</style>

So, Can I have a main header in the Header panel>Designer area or load an image in. Then can I have it so that when I put your code in on certain pages my different header shows up?

At the moment when I have just done this, the original or main header is showing underneath the newer individual page header. It is showing because they are not aligned up properly. Maybe if the were aligned up properly then you would not see the main page header under this page specific header. But is this the correct way of doing it?

Go to webpages tab --> Header section and use the Basic header not the advanced.

Thanks for that Jason, that is most helpful. I wanted
to post here so I can find it easily down the track.

This doesn't work for me. Even when I choose Web Pages->Basic Header. If I select Background Image->NO header image to start (when I've pasted in style sheet headers), then no header appears for any page on the site. If I choose a default background image that header appears on every page, not the different headers I have defined in the Scripts->Head Section.

I thought this would be neat to try, but not if it doesn't work, I'm back to using tokens. Curious though how others say it worked for them?

Hi Jason,
I pasted the code <style>TD.XSP_HEADER_PANEL{BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url('images/swimclasses3.jpg')</style>[/color] in the advanced settings --> Scripts --> Head section for each page but the header didn't change. Please advise if i missed out some steps? Is my swimclasses3.jpg file name correct?

Go to The Resource Manager and copy the file name (case sensitive) and then paste it into the code. I see your other headers have first letter caps.
