I have just added a Google custom search box to my site and it has slowed down XSP to a crawl. Reports-Site to do List times out. Saving takes ages and re-drawing the site in Page Layout is slow. If I take out the search box it all returns to normal. I have put the Google script in <nodesigner> and </nodesigner > tags, but this does not help.
I am putting the code at the top of the right panel which is 275 pixels wide. How do i resolve this problem?

Hi Xmrjeep

I have visited your web page and the pages seem to be loading up at a reasonable speed.
By keeping a sharp eye on the status bar, it looked like the double-click cookie was taking the longest to load.
This will be related to some of the advertising on the site.
However this seemed to speed up after visiting a page or two anyway.

Ben
Thanks for the reply, however its not the speed when browsing that has a problem, its the speed when working with and in XSitePro. For example it takes around 25 seconds to move from the "Web Pages" tab to the "Page Layout" tab even when I have made no changes, I have repeated this 4 times this morning and its always this speed. If I temporarily take out the search box script it takes under a second to do the same. It also slows down other areas of XSitePro. Why is a Google script so disruptive? As a temporary work-round I am cutting the script and copying it to a notepad text file, doing amendments and then copying it back in later, but its so frustrating for such a small block of text.

I think I used to have the same problem back when I used Google Custom Search and or AdSense for Search.
Nowadays I use Google Site Search and have no delay.
The way I worked around the issue (back then) was, that I had the panel (eg. info bar) unchecked and it wasn't included in the preview window.
But each time I needed to publish, I ticked the box and then published. After publishing I inactivated the panel again (where the search box was).
