I have been doing some research here on the boards as well as on search engines. It seems that XSP is no longer listed in any product reviews unless you actually type in XSP. This leads me to think that folks like PC Magazine do not see XSP as a top 10 web design product anymore. I've also noticed that since I bought the software (two seats) in 2009 that there has been decreasing updates and communications with the developers. I am still amazed at little pesky bugs like the programs lack of a reliable "undo" command.

So, my questions are these:

(1) Has XSP come and gone? If not then when will a new update be coming out? Yes, I have downloaded 2.55 but am still amazed at the lack of features (like more image gallery options). It seems to me that the whole basis of XSP is on how to make money via linking v/s what your company is trying to sell.

(2) If XSP is on the downward spiral (I really hope not since I like the ease of use), what is a similar alternative that shares the simplicty of this program?

(3) I've given up on trying to add in things like tabbed content due to XSP's lack of adding in those features. XSP Developers - What is on the horizion. Give me some hope!

Thanks for the feedback from the board,

Andrew

I second this request to hear from the developers, or anyone that knows the future (if it even has one) of XSitePro.

The most people ever on the XSitePro forums occurred 5 years ago! Whenever I go on the forums now 90% of the time I see myself and a Google bot.

And yes the amount of bugs is unacceptable, I'm running on Windows 7 and I've encountered everything from visual to functionality bugs.

If Intellimon is done with XSitePro please tell me so I can stop wasting my time with it when I could be practicing my skills with Wordpress, Dreamweaver, etc. I don't want to spend time learning more about XSitePro if it's going to be completely obsolete in several years.

The same here. I have several customers who want to build and renew their websites!!!

I purchased XSitePro solely to avoid the learning curve with other software.

Where is the follow-up & support?

Scary!

Kind of suprised - BenXsitePro (site admin) is on here responding to other questions but seems not to feel any need to address this question. As a small business owner, I'm kind of disapointed in the programs management for not stepping up and giving us the low down on where the program stands and what the future holds. Xsitepro was the best thing to hit the market "in 2009", what about today?

Downloaded Dreamweaver. Wow, the transition is going to be tough. Please tell me there is something else similar to XSP. Come on XsitePro, give us some hope!

BenXSitePro is not "management" at Intellimon and has likely been told not to comment on products and future releases.

Check out Serif WebPlus X6.
I have WebPlus X4 and have been impressed with the clean, quality code it creates. X6 looks to be even better.
At $99.99, it's probably (currently) the best value for the money in website development.
I do have to chuckle, though, when I see another company touting "Code-free web design."

I keep hoping that that Intellimon will meet the challenge and come out with a release of XSitePro that is state of the art in 2012 web development technology.

One of the things most often overlooked in discussions of XSitePro is the fine job it does in managing websites created in XSitePro.
XSitePro makes managing large websites relatively easy.

I would not go back to using Dreamweaver unless I get paid a lot of money to do so.

You hit the nail on the head with that one! This is the reason that I'm so reluctant to move to something else. XSP is the most user friendly program that I have ever seen and worked with. But like you said, they need to step up to 2013 on the development side. Quite putting effort on things like click thrus for Google, ad sharing and so forth. Give me a management tool for today's world wide web.

Ben, please ask XSP management to let us, the consumer know what's on tap moving forward.

Thanks!

Maybe if more people post on this thread we might get an answer.
All we reeally want to know is Xsite staying as it is, or do the powers to be see it as a viable project for them to develop in the future.
Its a simple request that I think we need to know.Everyone knows Serif updates WebPlus and charges for it. In my mind its not as good as Xsite could be, the word is could be!!

Well, so far since the powers that be will not talk with us.......

Who on here switched to WebPlux X6. How similar is it to XSP? Would it be a step down - lateral move - or a step up? What are the options for other software similar to XSP? Please list them.

At this point I think those of us (you know, the paying customers) on the forum should make ourselves (all 10 of us  ) heard! Now, I fully expect someone on the site admin to pull this thread down and silence us. If that happens then I think we all get the message loud and clear.

XSP, all we are asking for is a response as to what the future holds. I would be willing to pay another $200 if XSP was to have a major overhaul and bring the 2009 program into 2012. I aways wondered how XSP was going to support the longevity of the software without some type of upgrade fee.

WordPress and Drupal are the best website applications out there right now.

XSP would still be good if the code and doc type weren't so antiquaited.

WordPress and Drupal also have the ability to tie in literally thousands of killer plugins. Much more than a stand alone program like XSP or WebPlus could ever hope to include.

Hello guys,

I just stumbled across the forums again in a long long time.
I almost completly switched to wordpress since, like you already said, XSP is lacking functionality and I feel that somehow things are not as good as they were.
Why? Intellimon has been really sloppy paying affiliate commissions. I'm still waiting for commissions from April 2012. Not getting paid is almost always a sign that things aren't going as well. Do you think I'd recommend this software anymore if I have to fear that the company goes down and the person I have recommended XSP to holds me accountable why he cannot work with his websites anymore? No way, my friend.

Ordered Seriff WebPlus 6 on Sunday. Quite impressed so far! Still wish XSP would have worked out but I think the above comment combined with the lack of communication from XSP kind of points us in a direction.....

Over 90% of the websites that I built in 2012 are WordPress. It's CMS, memberships and forms management capabilities just keep getting better. Knowing CSS, HTML and PHP make it an even better development platform (this is also true for XSP).

The remaining sites have been mostly CSS, PHP and Zen Cart. I still maintain a couple dozen XSitePro websites but I rarely use it for new development. If you know some HTML and CSS, a new sales "squeeze" page can be done with a few CSS divs and classes. Just fill in the content at the appropriate places.

For XSitePro to survive and thrive, it needs a very major upgrade.

You can still easily build functional websites with XSitePro. For someone with a business who needs a simple website, it's a great tool.

However, if you build websites for a living in 2012, using XSitePro is limiting when compared to the other tools available.

XSitePro was once a state of the art development system. It would be great to see it there again.

It would also be great to hear from Intellimon....
