Hi Everyone,

As you probably know, we have a new update of XSitePro in the pipeline, version 2.5! This new version of XSitePro will have a whole new set of designs and templates. We've taken onboard all the feedback from the recent survey Paul sent out and as you can see there's a real Web 2.0 feel going on.

Paul's asked me to start posting some examples of some of the new designs to get your feedback and any suggestions you might have, as he really wants these to be everything you dreamed of and more :-)

I thought I'd get the ball rolling today with some of the new search box designs, buttons and icons. This is just a small sample, but it will give you an idea of the kind of thing we're putting together.

Can't wait to read your comments!

Rob

Great to get a sneak peak of what's coming :D

I really like those search boxes. The second one down looks very Apple Mac'ish.

And those graphics with the two arrows on, they look really professional. Will these just be in blue and yellow or will we have a choice of different colors. Hope it is the latter

The speech bubble that says 'Only $47'. I really like the reflection below it. That's very cool and looks seriously Web 2.0. What prices will you be including as I have a couple of different price points that I'd want to use ($99 and $7), and I'm sure other people will want different things too?

It is great that you're asking our opinion at this early stage Rob. Can't wait to see more :D

Rob,

Looks great, thanks for showing us - please put up more if you have them - full template snapshots would be great. Will there be new templates in version 2.50?

Yes, all of the graphics have different colors to choose from :)

These bubbles feature all of the main price breaks ending in 5, 7 or 9.

I'll be adding more designs shortly, including new template shots :)

That would be incredibly helpful. The time it takes me to mess around with Photoshop and
come up with a subpar design is very frustrating. To have something that looks great and
will help the clickthroughs is very advantageous.

Can't wait for the new update.

Great to hear :)

If there are some images or buttons in particular that you'd like adding, nows the time to ask :)

Will it possible to import your own search button from the harddrive with the Search Wizard Form? I have downloaded several search buttons from XSitePro Club that I will like to use in my website designs and, with the new version 2.5 update of XSitePro 2, hopefully this can be finally be imported like all the cliparts images.

Currently there is no option of importing search buttons from the harddrive when using Search Wizard Form in XSitePro 2.

On the whole I am very exited and looking forward to the new powers and functions of XSitePro 2 version 2.5.

The new clipart is an improvement and upgrade.

I'm more interested in internal improvements that will make XSite Pro a better development system. There are numerous examples of
requested improvements/fixes in the Features section.

Number 1 on my list would be better CSS support and integration with XSite Pro.

Number 2 would be the ability to lock sections of code in Source so that it doesn't get altered/trashed when switching from Source to Design.

I like what I see so far.

Being able to integrate rounded corners easily would be awesome. It might be near impossible, but if we could just type in a color code or even select it from the existing color picker and get rounded corner boxes this would be super cool. My graphical borders package is a first step in that direction.

And if we could actually access the code for the widgets that would be nice. The widgets are great - but being able to customize them would be a lot nicer.

Like CopyWolf said, having a "code lock" in the source code would make life easier.

All that being said...

XSP rocks! I hate the thought of web building without it. Killer graphics with a super simple interface makes XSitePro, hands down, the only web building tool I use and suggest to my clients.
(I have 5 years of website design experience.)

The graphics are nice and fresh, although these are something that users could easily add themselves to the current version.

The sneak peek is great to look at, and it's also great to see that you are keeping us all informed, as the build progresses.

Very much looking forward to see what innovations version 2.5 will contain.

Thanks Rob,

Pete Lauder

I second that.
One of my pet peeves with xsitepro is that some of the features can not be customised.
If we could upload our OWN graphics and integrate the search in our own little designed graphic search bar that would be good.
The problem with xsitepro is that once alot of users start to use the templates and pre made buttons.. then using them on a clients site is limiting because you don't really want to use graphics that 10,000 other people have used.

You can add your own graphics easily using the Snippets function - granted it doesn't give a toolbar though but its quite convenient to use.
