I am creating my own site to sell my own product. I have inputted the buttons with no text so that I can include my own. I cannot figure out for the life of me how to put my own text on the blank buttons. Does anyone have any input on how I can do this? Please don't tell me you can't in such a great program like this one.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Adrienne

Of course you can.

2 ways

1. create the button with the text already on then add.

2. Use the button graphic as a "background" then you can add text over the top.

Okay, guess I'm a little lost here. I have gone to "insert image" and then found the blank button that I want. I guess I'm not understanding how you can use that button as a background.

I've created my personal website and several splash pages now, but I'm diving into unknown territory now. I'm just having more difficulty figuring out this one. Sorry for the ignorance.... But, I do love to learn.

Thank you so much for your help and I look forward to finding out more.

Hi Adrienne,

Download this software http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ click on the download Gimp link near the page top.

The Gimp is free, open source software for image editing, and you can insert text over any image you like.

If you have a button from XSitePro you need to edit, preview the site with the blank button on it, right click on the button, then click save picture.

Once you have your final button, save the file under a different name, and add it to your XSitepro site as you would any other image.

Once threre, highlight the image in XSP, and click add link, this will make the image clickable to any page you set the link to.

Pete Lauder

ps, the Gimp may take some getting used to, but it is a really good piece of kit, once you become familiar with it.

Thank you Pete. I do have Gimp and have played around in it a little bit. I tried editing the button in Paint Shop Pro, but when I imported it back into my site it didn't appear very clear. I will definitely try it in Gimp.

Appreciate your input.

Have a great day!

Gimp is my favorite button/text tool.
Before you put a button on your site, preview it.
If you don't like it in the preview, you're not going to like it on your site.

Also, there are lots of buttons that are way better than most of the buttons provided with XSP.
Just type "free web graphics" into Google and be ready to download some great buttons. I have
an extensive button library and rarely bother with the XSP buttons.

Gimp is a good program to use, easy to learn. Photoshop elements is also good for creating good web graphics and resizing them quickly. However, sometimes when I just need to add some text to an image I find it really quick and easly to do it in xheader. Each program has its pros and cons. So I try to take advanage of the pro's in all three. My input for the day!
